Their shape is not only their signature but also their namesake: The Villiger Original Krumme gets attention with its uniqueness.
Who would have thought: The unusual shape of VILLIGER Original Krumme was originally a clever form of anti-theft protection:
The workers in the cigar factories in Cuba used to receive a small supply of cigars for their own use every week. So that they were not tempted to increase their personal allotment secretly, the free cigars were braided while still wet. By drying in the braids, the cigars got their distinctive twisted shape. That way, you could see from a long distance that the workers were rightfully smoking a cigar from their free supply.
And the twists also have very special advantages to the smoking experience: the “curves” in the cigar cool the smoke so the tobacco aroma can unfold optimally.
The VILLIGER Original Krummes are still braided by hand today, using delicate aromatic tobaccos and old Cuban tradition. That’s what makes each and every cigar unique.
The VILLIGER Original Krumme Junior is perfect for a slightly shorter smoking experience.
