This big annual shooting day for our VILLIGER cigarillos is a highlight for everyone involved. Our partner Luciano from Blockbusterli Productions GmbH organizes the shoot in collaboration with VILLIGER’s marketing team. Capturing the perfect moments requires a professional team of different specialists. These include a make-up artist who ensures that the models look their best and an experienced stylist who skillfully coordinates the outfits, accessories, and, of course, the stars of the show, the cigars and cigarillos. Two or three photographers utilize the best angles and lighting conditions to take the perfect shots. As video is becoming increasingly popular, we’ve decided to focus on video recordings this year and have brought in two videographers on the day of the shoot. And let’s not forget our dedicated team of volunteers, who ensure that everything runs smoothly and that we have everything we need in the right place at the right time. As you can see: It takes the coordinated efforts of our diverse team to capture the perfect VILLIGER moments.
The ins and outs of a successful shoot: good planning
We work closely with our product managers during the preparatory phase of our shoots. We agree on the products to be shot and the target group we want to reach. We also define the emotions and moods we want to convey with the photos and videos.
Next, we start looking for people who best fit the VILLIGER image – an exciting and challenging task, as we work primarily with private individuals and not professional models. We strongly believe it takes true fans to capture those authentic moments of joy. That’s why we recruit new talent from our community and friends.
At this point, Luciano suggests various shooting locations, which we discuss with the team. After selecting the location, we visit it and plan the individual sets on-site. This year, we picked the Attisholz Areal, which caught our eye because of its diverse backdrops.
A detailed timetable is drawn up to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently on D-Day.

The big shooting day for our cigarillos has arrived
Finally, the big shooting day kicks off! This year, we are starting at 9 a.m. sharp in Solothurn, where we are wrapping up the final preparations. Our models arrive at 10 a.m. and are immediately getting dressed and styled. At 10.45 a.m., we are already filming the first shots. Thanks to careful planning and a meticulous schedule, everything runs smoothly. Incidentally, the Attisholz Areal not only provides fantastic sets – the local restaurant also spoils us with delicious food, adding to the lively atmosphere. By 10 p.m., we’ve got everything we need, and it’s time to call it a day – we’re all done.
Our photographers and videographers, however, are not finished yet! Over the following days, they review the footage, select the first images and videos, and then make the final edits. It is always a very special moment when the photos and videos are ready, and we get to see the final results. It’s always exciting to see what we've achieved through our fantastic collaboration.
